Leeds City Council is bringing its services to the streets of Holbeck with its new ‘Pop Up Hub’. The Hub is visiting the Recreastions every Wednesday in a pilot project to get services closer to residents.
Services you can find at the Dewsbury Road Hub (formerly One Stop Centre), such as housing and Council Tax enquiries are provided from the wi-fi enabled library bus. You can also get help from the Jobs & Skills team to support your job search or CV writing.
Do you need help with your neighbours, or a smoke alarm fitting? Do you need help bringing down your fuel bills? Partner agencies are also on hand in the shape of staff from the Police, Fire Service and Groundwork’s Green Doctor Service.
LCC’s Private Sector Housing Team are continuing their intensive ‘Neighbourhood Approach’ visiting every tenanted house in the area to ensure it meets basic standards.
Councillor Angela Gabriel, Chair of the Inner South Community Committee said:
“It’s really important that residents can get the services they need. We recognise that people can’t always get to Dewsbury Road or the St George’s Centre in Middleton, so we are trialling bring the services to you.”
“This really is a fantastic opportunity, and I know members of the HUB team are really looking forward to meeting as many Holbeck residents as possible over the next few months.”
