Middleton Railway’s Autumn Gala will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September.

Services will operate on the usual running line between Moor Road and Park Halt and also on the rarely used Balm Road Branch. Trains will run from 10am until 5pm on both days. Brake van rides will also take place between Moor Road and the Balm Road branch on both days.

The gala will see a mixture of steam and diesel locomotives running a mixture of passenger and freight services to an intensive timetable. Locomotives running at this event will be; M.S.C 67 (running for the last time at a Gala event before overhaul), newly repainted Peckett “Austins No. 1”, Manning Wardle No. 1601 “Matthew Murray” and Thomas Hill No. 138C. The recently overhauled N.E.R 1310 will also be on static display at Moor Road.
