Middleton Park is one of seven parks and green spaces across Leeds which have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award. The others are: Golden Acre Park, Kirkstall Abbey, Otley Chevin Forest Park, Pudsey Park Roundhay Park and Temple Newsam Estate.
The seven sites, operated by Leeds City Council, have been recognised amongst the best parks in the country, with the Green Flag Award denoting clean, safe and well-maintained spaces.
The news that these sites have yet again achieved the award is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of the council’s parks service, who care for the parks and green spaces so that everyone can enjoy them.
All seven parks and green spaces awarded a green flag are vital green spaces for the community in Leeds, bringing people together and providing opportunities to lead healthy lifestyles.
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
