Middleton Park Craft, Flower, and Produce Show is coming up!

The Friends of Middleton Park group sent us this timely reminder:

Friends of Middleton Park logoI just wanted to remind everyone of the Middleton Park Craft, Flower and Produce Show coming up on 9 September (1.30 – 4pm) in Middleton Park. I very much hope you are creating, growing or (planning) cooking something for the Show, but if not please come down on the day and see what others have done.

We will have more than 40 stalls selling food and crafts stuffs as well as from local charities etc. Plus where else can you race chickens in Leeds, or indeed the UK? Apparently they have been practicing hard in this Olympic year, and one is as fast as Usain Bolt! We also have pony rides, archery, a falconry show, a minitiature railway, and a live band and lots lots more.

So please come down and enjoy the day in Middleton Park. Why not join our facebook community too – search Friends of Middleton Park.

Also there will be a Middleton Park Diamond Jubilee celebration on Saturday 1 Sept 12-4pm.

Includes arts and crafts activities – making crowns, royal robes with coats of arms, jewellery; orb & sceptre, and creating large den castles as well as small ones to take away. Things made during the day can either be taken away or will be used to decorate the Middleton Park Education Centre as a reminder of the day. …

There will also be the opportunity to share memories of the Queen’s coronation for those old enough to remember it!
The activities are being provided by Leeds Play Network, a charitable organisation with over 20 years experience of engaging young people through the provision of play schemes and activities. They are providing play workers to supervise the activities along with Friends of Middleton Park volunteers. Come along, have some fun, and get your free juice and fruit.
