Middleton Leisure Centre proposals on agenda

An £883,000 scheme to improve Middleton Leisure Centre is set be be discussed by senior councillors on the executive board tomorrow.

The scheme includes the development of changing facilities, an adult social care area, improved heating system, car park and the demolition of the swimming pool, which was closed in September due to council cutbacks.

Councillors are being asked to approve the financing of the scheme, which will partly come from money given to the council by developers as part of planning conditions. A bid for money from Sport England has also been submitted.

If approved, the facilities will be closed for up to five months while the work is carried out. The agenda report can be found below: [scribd id=70628171 key=key-18t1j1ut1n8lsoh4sxsq mode=list]
