No date has yet been set for the demolition of the Middleton Arms, a senior councillor has said.
Middleton Park councillor Judith Blake told a meeting of the Middleton Community Group on Saturday that Aldi had so far provided no start date for their plans to demolish the landmark pub and build a supermarket there.
She said ward councillors would be looking to meet with Aldi officials before next month’s Middleton Community Group meeting to find out more.
The building was badly damaged by fire last November. No-one has so far been arrested in connection with the blaze.
