Marking different anniversaries with shows this month at Slung Low

Following a winter break, Slung Low, Holbeck’s own theatre company, present their Spring season of visiting productions.

The season starts with a family-friendly parody of the film Jurassic Park.

65 million years ago, dinosaurs ruled the Earth…
30 years ago, a movie about dinosaurs ruled the box office…
This year, you are invited to Hold On To Your Butts!

This “funny, head-spinning Jurassic Park parody” (The Times) is a must-see “chaotic masterpiece” (Stage to Page) that has won over London fans and critics alike. Hold On To Your Butts showcases Foley sound and physical theatre and is “imaginative, slick silliness on an epic scale” (London Theatre 1).

There are two performances of the show at 2pm and 7:30pm on Saturday (19 April 2025) at The Warehouse in Holbeck, Crosby Street, LS11 9RQ.

Twenty years ago The School of Night made its first appearance, at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. Since then, its unique blend of literary improvisation has been seen all over the UK. The School has appeared for Slung Low several times, most recently in 2023 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of The Complete Works’ publication – they are back again, performing new work by Shakespeare and others summoned from thin air!

Their 20th anniversary show is on at Slung Low Temple, Bath Road, LS11 9UD on Thursday 24 April at 7:30pm.

Both shows are pay-what-you-feel. Book your free ticket at www.slunglow.org/shows and pay after the show.
