Looking forward to Hunslet Festival 2026

Hunslet Festival is back on Saturday 13 June 2026 — and this year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest and most vibrant yet.

The festival, held each June on the Church Street/Grove Road field, has become a much‑loved celebration of Hunslet’s community spirit. Crowds return year after year for the lively arena performances, family activities, local stalls and the unmistakable buzz that fills the field.

What’s new for 2026:
Building on the fantastic feedback from 2025, the organising committee is adding fresh ideas while keeping everything people love. One major upgrade: four large inflatables from Happy Bouncers, fully staffed and free for all children throughout the day.

Free family activities
A packed programme of fun will run across the site, including:
• Climbing wall from Herd Farm
• Circus skills workshops with Rapide Entertainment
• Animal encounters with Purple Pig Farm
• Interactive arts and play with Yorkshire Contemporary
– A hands on display from the Royal Armouries
• Free bike repairs from The Big Bike Fix
• Youth Bus and activities from Leeds Youth Service
• Police van and kit try‑on with West Yorkshire Police
• Fire engine visit from Hunslet Fire Station — including the chance to sit in the cab, try on uniform and sound the siren

Arena performances
The arena will host a full day of entertainment from professional acts and local groups. Expect dance, live music, choir performances and a sports showcase bringing energy and talent to the heart of the festival.

Sports Arena
Children will be able to try out a range of sports — with plans currently exploring roller skating, skateboarding, cricket, rugby and more.

Stalls and local businesses
A wide mix of community groups, makers and local traders will be dotted around the field, offering something for everyone.

Food and drink
This year’s food line‑up includes:
• The Hunslet Club serving burgers and barbecue
• Bute Pizza firing up fresh pizzas
• Shazia Akhtar offering delicious Asian dishes
• And of course… ice cream for a sunny day (fingers crossed!)

Fairground rides
Traditional fairground rides will also be available for a small fee.

It’s set to be an action‑packed, feel‑good day for all ages. Bring your family, friends and neighbours and celebrate everything that makes Hunslet special.
