Saturday 7 March 9am will see the long awaited opening of the bigger and better B&M Hunslet store, on City South Retail Park.
The new colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from, Charlies-Angel-Centre, who will be taking centre stage to officially unveil the new B&M store, alongside the Lord Mayor, Cllr Eileen Taylor.
The charity provides support for parents and families who have lost a child, helping families rebuild their lives. Their free services include online information, bereavement counselling, telephone and email support, providing free bereavement packs and working with statuary bodies to provide the best bereavement care.
In addition to opening the new store, the team will also receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers to go towards the charity.
The store manager, Ashan Lodhi, said:
“The team from Charlie’s Angel Bereavement really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
“Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to get the doors open next Saturday and show customers their brand new B&M.”
The original store closed on Sunday 9 February and the site has undergone a comprehensive internal and external make over programme before it opens its doors.
They already employed 45 colleagues but the bigger space has seen them create an additional 10 new jobs for local people.
Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, pet range, health & beauty and homewares, including a brand new garden centre!
As well as an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range.
