Documentary premier and dinner to be hosted at The Light, 15 March 2017
Hunslet based charity, Leeds Autism Services, are set to host a fundraising event including dinner and a documentary premier, on Wednesday 15 March.
The evening, which looks to raise awareness of autism and the charity itself will be hosted within The Light. The event has gained support from Vue Cinema, which will screen the documentary, and Zizzi, which will treat guests to an Italian three-course buffet.
The 20 minute documentary, named ‘A Different Way of Thinking’, will provide an insight into the work of Leeds Autism Services and the impact the charity has on the lives of people who it supports, and their families.
The documentary features Beeston & Holbeck Councillor Adam Ogilvie, Kay Mellor OBE, writer of ‘The Syndicate’, Peter Bowker writer of ‘The A Word’ and Henry Normal, a comedian, television producer and poet who has a son on the autism spectrum.
All money raised from the event will be used to purchase new and updated equipment and help towards activity funding for adults in the Leeds area.
Karl Wilson, Partnership and Development Officer, said:
“We’re extremely excited to showcase our new documentary, which not only raises autism awareness but shows the great work of Leeds Autism Services.
“The Light has been extremely supportive in allowing us to carry out the event and to work with its tenants to put on a great evening.”
Stephanie James, Marketing Manager at The Light, added: “The work that Leeds Autism Services carry out is fantastic, we’re more than happy to be able to help them raise funds and awareness.”
Ticket for the event can be purchased for £35.00 via EventBrite.
