Consultation on the planned expansion of Cottingley Primary Academy and Low Road Primary in Hunslet closes tomorrow (Friday 5 February 2016).
With the rising pressure on school places still being felt in South Leeds two more schools have been asked to expand their size. Schools that have expanded in recent years include Beeston Primary, Hugh Gaitskell, New Bewerley, Middleton Primary and the creation of the new two form entry Lane End Primary in Beeston.
The plans for Cottingley are to increase the size from 315 to 420 pupils. They would increase the Reception intake from 45 to 60, or one and a half form entry to two form entry. The expansion would start from September 2017 with the school growing year by year. For more information go to: leedsschoolplaceplanning.wordpress.com/category/beeston
Low Road, which is part of the Music Federation with Windmill Primary in Belle Isle would expand from 140 to 210 pupils bringing it to a full one form entry. If the plans are approved, intake at Reception would increase from 20 to 30 pupils from September 2017. For more information go to: leedsschoolplaceplanning.wordpress.com/category/hunslet
