The accolade acknowledges the achievements of young people who have faced and overcome substantial personal obstacles and are now in sustainable employment.

After leaving school with no qualifications, Khaleel got into trouble with the police. During his 14 month spell in prison however, he studied hard and gained a range of qualifications. Following his release he secured a place on the Prince’s Trust’s ‘Get into Customer Service course’ which led to an opportunity to join The Right Fuelcard Company.

Khaleel said: “I’m both excited and very proud to receive this award by The Prince’s Trust – a fantastic organisation which has helped me to turn my life around.”

Khaleel’s manager Nick Elletson, commented: “It’s tremendous that the work we undertake alongside the Prince’s Trust has resulted in this well-deserved achievement.  We value our long-standing partnership with the Trust which helps to develop key skills, confidence and motivation – enabling young people to move into work, education or training.”

Caroline Raines, Senior Manager at financial services company BGL, which supported the awards, said: “Everyone at BGL Group would like to congratulate Khaleel for winning the BGL Group Rising Star Award. Khaleel has conquered many of life’s challenges to turn his life around and he should be very proud of his achievements.”

The Right Fuelcard Company, an independent distributor of Shell, Esso, Keyfuels and UK Fuels fuel cards to UK businesses – is marking a formative period in its development since launching in 2011.
