Inspirational start to the autumn term at CJCA

The new term at Cockburn John Charles Academy has got off to an inspirational start as Year 11 were treated to a highly motivational guest speaker Action Jackson.

He inspired the group’s attention with his thought-provoking presentation, encouraging each individual to reflect on their own ability and potential as they embark on the most important year of their education so far. Action Jackson has worked with a vast range of people including students across the UK, as well as companies such Morgan Stanley Multinational investment bank, the NHS and a number of top universities.

Siobhan Roberts, Head of School, said:

“We are really pleased with the start to the new academic year and are delighted with the high attendance, high standards of uniform and high levels of engagement in the classrooms and thank parents and carers for the role they play in this.”

Cockburn John Charles Academy has undergone rapid transformation since joining Cockburn Multi-academy Trust. For the first time, the school now has a full compliment of teaching staff who are specialists in their subjects. Teachers have been planning inspiring learning for students to get the new term off to a flying start.

David Gurney, Executive Headteacher, said:

“We are delighted that parents and carers have full confidence in our ability to provide an excellent education for students on this site and for the first time since opening an academy on Old Run Road, Year 7 is now full.”
