Hunslet and Riverside Ward Councillors have announced the approval of a £37,000 upgrade to Hunslet Lake Park in Hunslet Carr. The improvements will include:
- new swings
- safer surfacing under some equipment
- tumble over bars
- stepping pods
- new park signs
- new thermoplastic play markings
- multi-use-games-area lines and court repainting
- balance beams
Cllr Elizbeth Nash said:
“We have listened to the feedback of residents in Hunslet Carr – in particular from those who live in the Arthingtons and Royals estate. Cllr Mohammed Iqbal, Cllr Paul Wray and I know residents have wanted improvements to Hunslet Lake Park for a while and we are happy we can now commit to delivering these by the middle of 2022.”
The new investment is in addition to the planting of new semi mature trees as part of local councillors’ commitment to improve biodiversity and tree coverage across the ward.
