LEEDS UNITED striker Noel Hunt has backed a new partnership between Aim Education and Leeds Sports Centre, that will provide an innovative post-16 education programme in Leeds.

The Republic of Ireland marksman is delighted Aim Education has teamed up with Leeds Sports Centre to provide a BTEC Level 2 Sports Development Diploma, believing it will inspire and motivate students that may have been disengaged in secondary school, to produce their best in a progressive and supportive learning environment.

The Sports Development BTEC Level 2 course, which will take place at Leeds Sports Centre (on Lowfields Road, close to Elland Road) from September, will feature subjects such as; practical sports performance, fitness for sport, anatomy and physiology and lifestyle and wellbeing. Hunt believes prospective students will revel in practical sessions at the state of the art facility, but also embrace classroom sessions, that will be taught differently to what they may have been accustomed to. Hunt said:

“I know the facility well and if they enjoy sport, everything is there for them to succeed. They have a great facility for practical sessions and the classrooms are also excellent. There is a really positive vibe around the place.

“But the thing that excites me the most is the experience and quality of teaching that they are going to get. Both Carl and Jonny have so much experience dealing with all types of learners, especially the ones that are maybe lacking in confidence. They are both really positive guys and I think the group that comes in September will really enjoy being taught by them.”
