Hunslet veterans to celebrate 93rd birthdays

The Garden Gate, on Wednesday 6 January 2016, 12 noon, is the venue for birthday celebrations for two Hunslet Rugby League Legends on reaching 93 year old.

Frank ‘Shank’ Watson and Jimmy Brogden who both played around the time of the second world war. Both are still going strong, a fact that former player, coach and Hunslet Heritage Director Peter Jarvis puts this longevity down to the bath water at the Parkside club.

Ex Parksiders, friends and supporters of the other clubs that Frank represented, Leeds and Batley, will be in attendance and pie & peas is on the menu.
