Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association discuss local issues

Hunslet issues were discussed at the latest meeting of the Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association yesterday evening.

About 20 people attended the tiny Church of the Nazarene venue and hear their fellow residents discuss topics including anti-social behaviour, problems with bin collections, bin bags and bins in general!

Representatives from the local neighbourhood policing team said that crime ‘was next to nothing in Hunslet’ and that in the past month there had only been five burglaries, with all of them coming from thieves walking through unlocked doors.

Untidy gardens on Hunslet’s estates are set to be targeted in a crack down, residents were told.

The meeting also heard about how residents across Leeds are being encouraged to nominate individuals and successful community projects for the Leeds Community Stars Awards 2012. Closing date for the awards is April 20.

Hunslet Tenants and Residents Association meets the first Wednesday of every month.
