This years Hunslet Community Gala, organised by the committee of Hunslet Festival, takes place on Saturday (29 June 2019) 11:30am-4pm.
The event, on the playing field at the junction of Grove Road and Church Street, starts at 11.30am with a performance by the Baton Rouge Majorettes which is followed by the official opening ceremony at 11.55am.
In the family arena there will be a variety of entertainment: Majorettes, Icon Dance & Keldon School of Dance, Dogs for Good and Hunslet Warriors Junior Rugby Showcase.
A local junior orchestra and a folk band will be providing the music, all brought together by Ainsley our DJ and host for the day.
We also have in attendance two quite different animal attractions: Ian’s Mobile Farm and Sam’s Safaris. New for this year, we are also running through the afternoon a Dog Show, where local residents can bring along their own dogs.
As in all years, we will have ‘The Titanic’ Inflatable slide plus Bouncy Castles for our younger visitors to ride, the Bungy Trampoline will also be there along with a couple of small kiddie rides. The Rapide Brothers will be providing a Circus Skills Workshop and Professor Robianti is here with his Punch & Judy Show.
In addition, we also have a mobile food van, Ice Cream and a Mobile Trailer selling sweets.
