Hunslet Club Football Gala

 

hunslet football gala (01)I made my way up from my flat to Parkside Fields; I was about half an hour late due to rain and not knowing how water proof my camera was, and not carrying a waterproof notebook. Anyway the rain stopped, and was just overcast until about 10.30am when the sun finally came out.

Already cars were parked both sides of Belle Isle Road from Belle  Isle Circus as far as the eye could see probably going right back to BITMO GATE.

 

Anyway made myself known to Craig Gilmore (Sport Deployment Officer) Craig quoted in the match day programme.

“Thank you and welcome to the Hunslet Club’s Football Gala 2015. It’s overwhelming to see the support towards junior football Events like this are a fantastic opportunity for our young people from across Leeds to get together and active.

I would like to say a massive thank you for coming along and supporting us as well as our young players.  I hope you have a fantastic day with us. Craig Gilmore (Sport Development Manager).”

There were 300 children taking part in the 5 a side football Tournament   along with family members along, to watch the games taking place. Each game lasting 20 minutes 10hunslet foot ball gala (7) minutes a side. The playing fields split up into 5 a side football pitches so many games could be played all at the same time.

170 games to be played, all the club teams in the match day programme which you received at the gate when I  a handed over £1 entrance fee.

Some teams coming as far as Guiseley.  So we’ll done to all the teams taking part today.

Already setting up inflatable Bouncy castle, Tombola stall to raise funds for the club and Winners awards tent. Oh must not forget a Barbecue. Hot and cold foods and drinks in the Clubhouse.

hunslet foot ball gala (5)Hunslet club mini bus turned up to top up food to the Clubhouse. After about 3 hours watching the various matches.

Made my way home to write up this blog and edit the many photos.
