Sunday 21 May 2017 was the day that Cheer-City became Emerald-City when over 60 of our Hunslet Club Emeralds dancers took part in only their second major, national competition at the Leicester Community Sports Arena.
Participating in the Tiny Pom, Mini Pom, Youth Pom duet, Senior Pom, Youth Hip-Hop, Junior Hip-Hop, Senior Hip-Hop, Contemporary solo and Senior Contemporary categories our girls and boys celebrated in style winning 6 first places and 3 second places.
Over 95 performances took place and our Senior Hip-Hop won the coveted “Grand Champions” award for the highest scoring overall performance of the day and the senior pom team achieved the second highest score of the competition.
Finlay Pears was crowned division champion with an outstanding solo contemporary routine whilst Marley Freeman and Summer Brown took first place with their cheer-pom duet.
Youth Hip-hop were delighted to be presented with their first place trophy by Dhillon Brandt from the CA Wildcats.
Parent Amanda Savery commented as follows “Had an amazing weekend at Cheer-city UK. Super proud mum and auntie!
Everyone did absolutely brilliant – am proud to be part of Hunslet Club Emeralds family”
