Hunslet Cemetery improvements – consultation closes this week

Local residents can still have their say over planned improvements to vandal-hit Hunslet Cemetery.

As reported last month, residents living close to the vandal-hit cemetery have received letters from Joanne Clough from the council’s parks and countryside department. The letter says that following recent vandalism, landscaping and environmental improvements need to be made, as well as improvements to security.

A number of possible proposals are available for residents to consider.

The public consultation closes on Friday, with further developments in the New Year.

The proposals follow pressure from the Friends and Relatives of Hunslet Cemetery Group and representations from ward councillors concerned about anti-social behaviour in the cemetery.

More details of the proposals are available on the Friends’ facebook page.
