Mike from the Leeds Hope Not Hate campaign is asking for YOUR support to help beat the EDL, BNP and other Far Right groups in the Middleton Park Ward (which covers Middleton and Belle Isle). Here’s his email…
Dear friend,
I am writing to ask if you can spare an hour or two of your time on Saturday the 10th of December.
Over the past few months, Hope Not Hate has been involved in the launching of a positive community based campaign in the Belle Isle and Middleton areas of Leeds.
This is an area of Leeds where the far right have previously held a level of support.
Alongside a number of community activists, we have launched the Belle Isle and Middleton Together group.
A group that is aiming to bring together people from all aspects of the community, and to directly challenge the far right presence in the area.
On Saturday the 10th of December we will be delivering the first edition of the Belle Isle and Middleton Together newsletter.
If you would like to help with this, we will be meeting at the Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre, Acre Close, Middleton, LS10 4HX from noon onwards.
From Leeds city centre you can get bus numbers 2, 13 qnd the 13a from the Corn Exchange. Tenants Hall is off Middleton Park Avenue opposite the primary school and behind the health centre.
Refreshments will be provided, any help is much appreciated.
