Mosaic Church Holbeck would like to invite the people of Holbeck to join in with the Holbeck Advent Calendar!
As a church we normally run two big community carol services at St Matthew’s linked in with the lights switch on, as you know, 2020 is a year like no other so we’re just not able to do that this year. However we didn’t want people in Holbeck to miss the opportunity to celebrate Christmas as a community so we are doing an interactive advent calendar around the streets of Holbeck.
Each day from Monday 7 December to Sunday 20 December a different window in Holbeck with light up with a picture of the Christmas story and you will also be able to scan a QR code (how 2020!) which will take you to a video of something telling you that part of the Christmas story.
The location of the window will be posted on Mosaic Church Holbeck each day but you can also find it on the map below. On the final day, Sunday 20 December, you will be able to visit the final window between 10:30am-12pm and some members of Mosaic Church Holbeck will be there to give kids a little gift!
You may also see members of Mosaic doing different things around the streets of Holbeck in the next few weeks including dressing up as elves, carol singing, giving out Christmas hampers and spreading a bit of Christmas hope in a year where hope is very much needed!
We hope all these things bring a bit of fun and light to Holbeck this Christmas time and chance to stop and think about what this season is all about.
