The Craft Group at HEA have produced a special flag to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday tomorrow (21 April 2016).
The flag celebrates key dates in the monarch’s life including her wedding, coronation and diamond jubilee.
HEA (formerly Holbeck Elderly Aid) will be holding a party for its members on the Queen’s official birthday – 10 June – at The Hunslet Club. The group had planned to unveil the flag then, but the crafters have been so busy they have finished in time for the Queen’s actual birthday.
The craft group meets every Thursday afternoon to share skills and make items to raise funds for HEA. In 2014 they crocheted a special yellow jersey for one of the statues in City Square to mark the start of the Tour de France.
