The inaugural fans panel meeting took place last Monday with 11 fans in attendance.
Phil Hodgson, who is the Board representative on the group, commented:
“I was really pleased with the turn out. There were another three who were unable to attend on the night but will be involved in the future. As a Board we recognise the importance of feedback from all fans and the panel gives supporters the perfect opportunity to air their views.
“We discussed what we each saw as the purpose of the group. Improved communication between the Board and supporters was high on the list and the introduction of the panel was seen as a step in the right direction. Going forward the panel will set the agenda for the quarterly meetings with the Board. This will ensure that the issues deemed important by fans are covered as well as giving the Board the chance to explain the rationale for decisions on a more regular basis.
“Equally encouraging was the willingness of the group to get involved in the running of the club, be that volunteering on match
days or fundraising initiatives”.
Other topics discussed on the evening included ticket pricing, membership and an update on the RFL investigation into the Batley “smoke bomb” incident.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7pm Monday 9 November at the New Inn, Churwell. If you would like to be involved please email phil.hodgson@hawksrl.com.
