Grandma asks “Please run for Skye”

Skye Sutcliffe is a little girl from Middleton battling a big health problem.

Skye runNow 16 months old, Skye was just four months old when she was admitted to Leeds Children’s Hospital with suspected meningitis. It turned out to be acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukaemia – two rare forms of cancer.

Last July Skye’s three year old brother Harvey helped his sister, donating his bone marrow for a transplant, but Skye’s not out of the woods yet. Now her Grandma Amelia has organised a 5km fun run in Middleton Park. As well as showing Skye their support, runners (and walkers) will raise money for the Candlelighters and Delete Blood Cancer charities.

The fun run will take place on Saturday 14 February 2015 in Middleton Park. People in South Leeds are asked to show their love on Valentine’s Day and help raise as much money as possible to tackle this dreadful disease.
