Dog owners are invited to bring their pet along to Cross Flatts Park to take advantage of a special free microchipping offer.
Microchipping is recognised as the most effective and secure way of permanently identifying a lost pet. A unique identification number is registered to the animal and the owner’s details are placed on a national database. Chipping makes it much easier to reunite dogs with owners if they do go astray.
The event takes place at the Watsonia on Friday, July 20, 11am-3pm and is a joint event between the council and The Dogs Trust.
South Leeds Life is also running its own anti dog fouling Scoop It Up campaign, which is encouraging dog owners to scoop up after their pets in public places.
