DePuy Synthes continued their positive track record of getting stuck into community activities when they visited Involve Leeds – an alternative education provider.
Involve provides tailored education programmes to 11-14 year olds finding it tough in mainstream school. Working with just 8 young people per day Involve works hard to raise attendance, engagement, achievement with the aim of reintegrating the young person back into mainstream school or preparing them for vocational training.
Over the course of 6 days DePuy sent over 20 people to freshen up Involve’s centre, giving the walls a fresh lick of paint and transforming tired decor into a positive and welcoming environment. Depuy Synthes office is based just behind Hugh Gaitskell primary school, and volunteers from their customer services, design and innovation departments gave their time.
The volunteers did a great job and the centre is now a more welcoming and positive environment.
And there is more to come from DePuy as they hold a fundraiser for the Holbeck and Beeston food banks on the Thursday (8 December 2016) which includes carol singing and an appearance from our favourite Christmas visitor.
