Cross Ingrams Area Residents Association (CIARA) meeting on 13 September 2011

CIARA held its meeting at the Ingram Gardens Community Centre on Tuesday 13 September.  The evening involved its normal bimonthly public meeting followed by the Annual General Meeting. In attendance were councillors Angela Gabriel and David Congreve. Also in attendance was Sergeant John Aldred on behalf of the West Yorkshire Police and Helen Mallinson from Aire Valley Homes.

Topics related to the Holbeck area which were discussed included vehicle crime, metal theft, prostitution, highways, library provision, allotment vandalism, SouthLeeds Sports Centre and the PFI. Members requested that a Christmas dinner should be organised based on previous successful events.

At the twelfth Annual General Meeting all officers were re-elected and one new committee member was elected. The committee for 2011/12 is:

Another successful year was reported. CIARA has been successful in providing support to residents and a voice for the community throughout the year. It was agreed that the help of councillors, the police and Aire Valley Homes had been invaluable.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 22 November.
