Cottingley Crematorium clean up

Wonderful weather, great camaraderie, and a good cause brought out the best in people when volunteers got together at Cottingley Crematorium on Saturday (12 March 2022).

Thirty people collected twenty-five bags of litter from the site.  Everyone was raring to get started and it was lovely to have some very young helpers too.

I want to thank the organisers, Mahbub Nazir,  who runs Gooddeeds, Cllr Iqbal Mohammed and Amjid Hussain who is responsible for the Mosque volunteers, and thank you to Cllr Gohar Almass and the members of the KMWA (Kashmir Muslim Welfare Association) and all the Friends and families that came along to clean up.

These wonderful people regularly do good in the community and are always on hand to help when needed.

They are always so enthusiastic it brightens my day when they get together.

If you want to help volunteer in the parks or cemeteries then you can contact countrysiderangers@leeds.gov.uk or to be involved with the mosque and their community work contact gooddeeds@live.co.uk. All faiths are welcome.
