Members of the Beeston, Holbeck and Hunslet Leeds-Irish community recently attended a collaborative inter-generational participatory event of traditional Irish music and song at the Watsonian Pavilion in Cross Flatts Park, Beeston.
The event on 7 July was co-hosted by Leeds Irish Health & Homes and the Irish Arts Foundation, supported by Councillors on the Inner South Community Committee. Councillors Gohar Almass, Angela Gabriel, Andrew Scopes and Paul Wray – pictured with DesHurley from Irish Arts Foundation, Phillipa Dowson from Leeds Irish Health & Homes and musicians from Irish Arts Foundation – attended the event and enjoyed ‘the craic!’
The Leeds Irish Health & Homes South Leeds Irish Elders Group meet fortnightly at St Mary’s Parish Centre on Town Street, Beeston.
