Community meals service

Leeds City Council operates a 365 day community meals service and has been delivering hot meals city wide for over 40 years, supporting older and vulnerable people living in their own homes.

Community mealsFor some, this service is a useful form of short term support for times such as after illness, hospital discharge, a spouse’s bereavement or respite care for Carers. Longer term support can be provided to ensure and maintain independence in the community.

Providing you or a loved one with a tasty, nutritious hot meal delivered directly to the door, can help maintain nutritional wellbeing. At the same time this daily visit from Community Meals Leeds provides the reassurance and peace of mind for you or your carer, that someone has checked in and that you are safe and well.

They also have a frozen meal delivery service which provides a wide selection of complete meals delivered on a fortnightly basis.

“The service is absolutely marvellous, not only because of the hot meal but also the care and concern given to my mum during their visits. Last year, thanks to the Community Meals staff, we found out Mum was unwell and had suffered a heart attack.” Feedback given by a daughter of a Community Meals Leeds customer during her Mum’s annual review meeting.
