Detectives investigating a ram-raid at a jewellers in Leeds city centre on Sunday (18 February 2018) have recovered both vehicles involved in the incident.
The red Fiat Stilo and blue Ford Focus ST that were used in the incident at the Rolex at Prestons store, in Commercial Street, shortly before noon on Sunday, were found in Sayner Lane, Hunslet, at the back of the Braime factory site, just after 2.10pm on Monday 19 February 2018.
Both vehicles have been recovered and will undergo forensic examination.
Detective Inspector James Entwistle, of Leeds District CID, said:
“We would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone leaving the vehicles there or acting suspiciously in the area at any time since the ram raid on Sunday afternoon.”
The attack on the jewellery shop was unsuccessful. The Fiat was reversed into the shop window and the offenders, who were armed with various tools, then attempted to remove the glass. They were unable to gain access and drove off empty-handed.
