A jobs fair to help people find Christmas jobs at the White Rose Shopping Centre will be held next Wednesday (12 August 2015) at The Point Jobshop in the centre.
Businesses including Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and Argos are keen to recruit staff for current vacancies and for temporary posts over the Christmas trading period. The fair follows a successful event last year and will run from 10am to 3:30pm.
Staff from Leeds City Council’s Employment and Skills service will be on hand to support job seekers alongside recruiting businesses and other partner agencies. Help will be offered on applications, CVs and advice on recruitment practices, employer expectations, etc. Those requiring further support following the event will be allocated individual appointments, workshop or drop in sessions or signposted to various support services as necessary.
The Jobs Fair will also include the promotion of city wide apprenticeship opportunities through the Hub, the Head start programme and Leeds City College provision due to commence at The Point in September.
Further information and signposting is available to download from the Employment Leeds jobs page at www.leeds.gov.uk/employment.
The Point is located on the first floor of the centre near to the customer services desk and Argos store.
This post has been edited to remove a mistaken reference to a second fair in September.
