Parents of children in Year Six at Primary School have until the end of October to apply for a place at secondary school in Leeds. Ahead of that deadline two local academies are holding open days.
The South Leeds Academy‘s open day runs on Wednesday (5 October 2016) from 3:30-6pm. As well a having a chance to look around the school’s facilities and chat to the staff, the school will be visited by the Skybolt Starchaser rocket.
The British built prototype rocket is touring schools to inspire young people to reach for the stars and in particular take up the STEM subjects of Science, Maths and Engineering.
On Saturday (8 October 2016) there’s a chance to look round The Ruth Gorse Academy‘s brand new building on Black Bull Street in Hunslet. The school will be open from 10am-1pm. Please note there is no parking on site, but parking is available at the Royal Armouries and surrounding streets.
