Children’s Bushcraft days at Skelton Grange

Children are invited to set up camp and spend a day in the woods, taking part in shelter building, fire lighting, woodland crafts and environmental games.

TCV BushcraftSkelton Grange Environment Centre at Stourton has places on its Bushcraft event for children aged 8-12 years on Wednesday 28 May, during half term week.

Activities vary, but past Bushcraft events have included: shelter building, fire lighting, campfire cooking, field games, hammock making, wild food walks, wood work crafts, string making, bows and arrows, stalking and tracking, pyro-carving, and charcoal making.

“The kids really enjoy their days at Bushcraft – it is great for them to have a whole day outdoors learning new skills.”

“It is a wonderful opportunity to try new activities in a supportive and stimulating environment. We found the leaders inspiring, and can’t wait to come back!”

There will be further Bushcraft days in the summer holidays and autumn half term. For more information, or to book a place go to: www.tcv.org.uk/skeltongrange/education-play/bushcraft, email: skelton@tcv.org.uk, or ring (0113) 243 0815.
