A full planning application has been submitted to build a 64 bed care home on the site of the Omnibus pub on Throstle Road North in Middleton which closed in February 2016.
As we reported in November, Parkhomes UK Ltd are planning to build and run the care home. The proposed building will fill most of the site with the accommodation provided over two stories. Vehicular access and parking will be via Dolphin Road.
Parkhomes UK have promised to hold a consultation event for residents to view the plans, but no details are currently available.
You can view the full application online here.
Comments on the application, either in support or objecting, must be submitted by Monday 20 May 2019.
The Omnibus pub closed in February 2016 and was bought by a developer who submitted plans to convert it into 15 bedsits for single working age men. The planning application was rejected by officers and a revised plan for 9 bedsits was rejected by Councillors at Plans Panel in July 2017. The developer, PCC (Yorkshire) Ltd, then submitted a new outline plan to demolish the pub and build 14 houses on the site. This was approved in October 2017, but not acted on.
