Half term saw two Rugby League camps at South Leeds Stadium run by Leeds Rugby Foundation South Leeds Development Officer Lois Forsell and Hunslet Hawks Head Coach Barry Eaton.

Hawks Girls AwardsMonday was the turn of the girls who were put through their paces and demonstrated excellent skills throughout the session. They participated in drills to improve their passing, catching, agility, tackling and kicking skills. The girls all enjoyed the session, Grace from Beeston Broncos described it as “Epic”.

There were three awards up for grabs and they were awarded to Georgia Roche, Megan Mallinson and Eleanor Backhouse for demonstrating great attitudes, skills and behaviour throughout the session. Lois commented:

“It was great to see so many girls involved in a rugby league session during the holidays and they all did great. We hope to see them all again in future school holidays to keep them engaged and improving their skills.”

Hawks Camps October 13On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the boys came to show off their skills and have fun playing rugby league. Each day they played lots of fun rugby league games and also did some fun rugby related activities including designing their own rugby league team: team name, team kit and selecting their dream team.

The children showed massive improvements throughout the three days and their skills improved in many areas. The children were very well behaved with great attitudes so on their last day, 31 October, the children had some Halloween themed fun. They played pin the wart on the witch and also were given the opportunity to have their face painted and hair sprayed.

Awards were given out to Lucas Lee, Bradley Wheeler, Joe Burgess and Tyla Jarett.
