The centre was already packed with about 80 people waiting for Santa to arrive and give out presents to the children, includuding some adults who sneaked into the Grotto.
Thanks go to Jonathan our DJ playing Christmas songs, and the odd joke.
The Gate was packed with stalls such as Tombola raising money for good causes. I had a go on the Tombola stall and won a Christmas present to go in Sue’s Christmas stocking.
Some stalls selling crafts made by themselves, which made lovely Christmas presents.
There was a competition to name the Dragon, where all proceeds go to Radio Aire Cash For Kids. Well done to Steph, for raising the money.
I had a go with the raffle, maybe later I’ll find out if I’ve won something. Thanks to Billy for collecting the money for the raffle prizes.
I bought a Hunslet calender, look forward to seeing pictures of where I was born and brought up in Hunslet.
Paula was kept busy serving hot drinks and scones. I think some of the food was made by board member, Paula.
Ronnie the Rhino paid a visit much to the delight of the children, who couldn’t wait to have there picture taken with him. Where was Harry the Hawk?
Our local councillors Kim Groves, Judith Blake and Paul Truswell came along to enjoy the festivities.
I had a word with Paul if any more fayres in the area before Christmas. He said not, so I will put away my notebook, pen and camera for another year.
Santa has now arrived along with Santa little helpers Carla and Donna, and the children already lining up to see what Santa had brought them.
I think the look on the Children’s faces said it all. Thank you to Radio Aire cash4 kids for the presents.
Members of staff said a huge thank you to all our volunteers today, and throughout the last year.
