Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation (BITMO) is currently refurbishing the former Neighbourhood Centre on Windmill Road that is adjacent to the entrance of Windmill Primary School.
Morrison FS who are carrying out the work on behalf of BITMO are adapting the existing building to create a pair of spacious semi-detached dwellings designed for larger families with 3 and 4 bedrooms. Insulated to a high standard and double glazed throughout, they will have the additional benefit of a gas central heating system with solar thermal hot water panels on the south facing roof elevation to reduce heating costs.
The large parking area in front of the properties will be removed to reinstate the front garden area of each property. It is hoped that the removal of this traffic hazard adjacent to the primary school will encourage parents to walk children to school.
