Belle Isle robbery: Appeal for information

City and Holbeck CID are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place on Low Grange Crescent in Belle Isle on the 7 December.

The robbery took place at around 7:30pm when the victim – a 42-year old man – was parking his Honda Civic at his home on West Grange Road.

As the victim parked his car the suspects threw an object at the front passenger window of the vehicle, causing the window to shatter. A substance was then sprayed on the victim, causing him to temporarily lose his sight.

The suspects – who could not be seen – then stole a briefcase containing cash from the front seat before running from the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment but was not seriously hurt.

Enquiries are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact DC Lee Thimm at Holbeck CID via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
