Beeston library closes

A number of libraries in Leeds, including Beeston library on Town Street, have closed today (19 March 2020) in response to Coronavirus.

A Leeds City Council spokesperson said:

“We continue to follow national guidance around managing the impact of Coronavirus in Leeds, and have taken the decision to close the (a number of) library sites with immediate effect today.

“These closures will remain in place until further notice. We will be monitoring developments and following government guidance with regards to when it may then be appropriate and practical for us to reopen our sites.

“In the meantime we will be developing our online content and will engage with people through our social media channels. We would also like to thank all our visitors and staff for their continued support and look forward to welcoming people back in future.”

Libraries at Dewsbury Road Community Hub in Beeston, Hunslet Community Hub and St George’s Community Hub in Middleton remain open for now. You can also borrow e-books and e-audio online, to find out more click here.
