Beeston BasementArtsProject update

Beeston Basement Arts
Bruce and Debs of BasementArtsProject - probably the smallest arts space in Leeds, in the basement of a Beeston house

The BasementArtsProject is run by Bruce and Debs Davies from the basement of their terrace house in Beeston and is probably the city’s smallest arts space. Here, Bruce provides an update on the latest developments with the project…

Firstly I would like to thank, on behalf of BasementArtsProject and all of the artists involved, all of those who supported our excursion to the Stockholm Independent Art Fair 2012. The trip was a huge success and we were able to make many contacts with similar projects in other parts of the world. We would especially like to thank East Street Arts, Sally Bagnall, Alan Dunn (67Projects) and Arts Council England. Some Text and Images concerning the event, including a guest post by exhibition contributor Debra Eck can be found at http://basementartsproject.wordpress.com/category/past-events/

NEXT EVENT Philip Gurrey – ‘Responding to the Beeston Series’ will be the next event at BasementArtsProject. Philip Gurrey is a Yorkshire born artist currently undertaking a Masters of Letters, post graduate, programme in painting at the Glasgow School of Art. There will be an opening event on SATURDAY 24th MARCH at 7pm.
