The Friends of Cross Flatts Park have announced this year’s programme for ‘Bands in the Park’ free Sunday afternoon concerts, including the annual dog show.

Sunday 6 July: Sophie & Alex Heartstrings play mellow indie pop.

Sunday 13 July: ‘Swing O’Things’ playing old time classic swing tunes.

Sunday 20 July:  Amici perform singalong covers from the 1960s onwards

Plus the 20th Annual Beeston Dog Show. There are Pedigree and Fun categories, but who will be Best in Show? There is a charge of £3 for each class you enter your dog in. Entries on the day from 1:30pm, judging starts at 2:30pm.

Sunday 27 July: The Salvation Army brass band playing the best of brass, both religious and secular.

These free concerts run 2:30-4:30pm at the Watsonian Pavilion, near the top of Cross Flatts Park. The cafe will be serving drinks and homemade cakes and there will be free children’s craft activities each week.

The season is part-funded by Councillors on the Inner South West Community Committee.
