Acting classes at the GATE in Belle Isle

Belle Isle TMO is working with renowned theatre makers Red Ladder to deliver acting classes from the GATE centre in Belle Isle. Running for 7 weeks from Tuesday 28 February the course is funded by the Inner South Community Committee.

The course will be delivered by Red Ladder Artistic Director Rod Dixon who will share the Red Ladder approach to actor training, from character to relationships to ensemble. Participants can range from professional actors to total beginners.

Red Ladder are the company behind recents productions of The Damned United at West Yorkshire Playhouse and  Leeds Lads starring Leeds Rhinos’ own Jamie Jones-Buchanan at the Carriageworks Theatre.

The free classes will take place in the evenings between 6pm and 8.30pm.

They are a great opportunity for people looking to hone their acting skills, or to try something new; and could be the first step towards  being part of Red Ladders upcoming community productions.

To book onto the course contact James Major at the GATE on (0113) 378 2190, email: james.major@belleisletmo.co.uk.
