On the advice of the lovely Alison (Acre Court Manager) I went along to the Acre Court Macmillan coffee morning to raise funds for of course, Macmillan Cancer Support Nurses.
I have a lot of time for the nurses who looked after me and my parents, when they were dying of cancer a few years ago.
This gave me a chance to meet up with some of the residents of Acre Court, my new home since the 28 September. It was so lovely and they welcomed me.
There were some stalls: Tombola stall and a White Elephant stall. Plus guess the height of the cake.
There was also Cake Bingo. I could not stop for it, so I don’t know the rules for that!
I saw Alison there and and met up with some of the residents.
I later learned that over £600 had been raised on the morning. What a fantastic achievement.
They did relieve me of around £20 for things for my new flat, coffee and cake.
Having been well fed, I had to cut short my time at the coffee morning, to go and do the BITMO GATE Walk and Talk. I’m sure everyone had a lovely time.
