Prepare to saddle up as Let’s Ride cycling festival comes to Leeds

Roads in the city centre and surrounding areas will be closed to traffic on Sunday 2 September 2018 as cycling festival, Let’s Ride, comes to Leeds.

The free-to-attend event will bring music, food and drink, fun and games, demos, giveaways, activities, challenges, face-painting and the opportunity to see your city from a different perspective – on two wheels!

This fun and family-friendly day out will allow people of all ages, abilities and confidence levels to pedal the city’s streets, seeing many of the city’s best loved landmarks and cultural hotspots along the way.

Participants are free to ride as much or as little of the 6km route as they wish between 11am and 3pm, as well as enjoying a range of activities.

At Millennium Square you can pick up your free HSBC UK Let’s Ride bib, get it personalised, have a go at the ‘spin-to-win’ static bike challenge or take part in the Sir Chris Hoy sprint challenge, all whilst enjoying music and refreshments from local performers and vendors.

As well as this, the HSBC UK Go Ride station will be at the event, giving young people a taste of British Cycling’s development programme, with coaches on hand to advise and pass on tips.

Also present will be The Extreme Mountain Bike Show which will be led by the multiple British and European Mountain Bike Trials Champion, Danny Butler, who has been wowing crowds in cities across the country all summer.

If you want to take part but don’t have a bike, you can hire one on the day and we’ll also be showcasing the best in adapted bikes – ensuring that HSBC UK Let’s Ride Leeds is truly an inclusive event for everybody.
