[slideshow]The annual community gala for Belle Isle too placeon Saturday, 16th at Windmill Primary School, writes Deacon Al Henry.
The cloudy weather did not prevent toddlers, children, families and local residents turing out in large numbers.
Entertainment for the day was provided by DAZL who began the morning followed by Lynbar Majorettes, at noon, also present were Supreme Starlets Majorettes. The South Leeds Superstars semi-final took place.
Other activities during the day were: Face painting, henna tattoos, arts and craft, jewellery making, tombolas, cakes.
Other attractions included Morley Exotic Animal Rescue, displaying a number of animals, Rapide Brothers Clowns, Breeze Inflatable’s, majorettes displays, Bouncy Castle, Hunslet Hawks/Rhinos displays, Leeds Mobile Library, The Leeds Youth Service bus and the St Luke’s Youth Bus.
On the sports grounds nearby a number of sports activities took place organised by Hunslet Parkside Rugby Club. There were a number of stalls including Church Boys & Girls Brigade, Scouts, the Youth Hub, Health for All, BITMO, churches, Leeds City College, Windmill Children’s Centre, the police to name a few.
Lunch and refreshments were provided by the capable staff of Windmill Primary School, which hosted the gala.
