The folks at Beeston Parish Centre in Town Street, Beeston, will be offering up a special breakfast when the Olympic Torch passes through the area later this month.
The centre will be open for tea/coffee and toast as the Olympic Flame passes through Town Street and Wesley Street at about 8.45am on Monday 25th June. The parish centre will be open from 7.30am to 9am.
South Leeds Life reported last month how Hunslet Methodist Church will be offering an Olympic barbecue breakfast on the 25th. Bottled water will be given out at Trinity Methodist on Tempest Road and on Elland Road.
The torch will go over historic Leeds Bridge to Hunslet, along Balm Road and Moor Road, and is then taken on a lap of the John Charles Centre for Sport’s running track. From the sports centre it then it goes up to Dewsbury Road for a short stretch and through Beeston – including Tempest Road at about 8.30am and Beeston Road and passes Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium before heading through Churwell and Morley and out of the city.
