White Rose host Giving Tree for children’s presents

The White Rose Shopping Centre in association with Heart Yorkshire are encouraging shoppers to buy a gift for a deserving child this Christmas.

white-rose-giving-treeFrom Monday 21 November until Sunday 18 December, the Heart Angels will be trading their halos for elf hats and managing the collection of shoppers’ gifts for charities Kids Klub and Yorkshire Children’s Trust. The gifts will be a wonderful surprise for children who might probably not get any gifts under the Christmas tree.

Heart Angels will also be giving shoppers a little surprise as the first 500 people to donate a gift will receive a £10 gift card from White Rose Shopping Centre to spend in January. The Heart Angels will also be handing out candy canes and chocolate coins to thank shoppers for their kind generosity.

Laura Busson, Programme Controller for Heart Yorkshire said: “We’re so thrilled to be involved with such a worthwhile project this Christmas. We can’t wait to get cracking and help spread some festive cheer to those who need it most and right here in Yorkshire.”

White Rose Shopping Centre said: “We’re honoured to be hosting the Giving Tree at White Rose, it really echoes the sentiments of the festive season. It takes no time at all to pick up another present for a boy or a girl while you’re busy shopping at our large range of stores in the centre, but you can’t underestimate the joy that a gift can provide to a child in need.

“Yorkshirefolk are known for their kindness, and we’re looking forward to seeing our warm-hearted customers and staff supporting this wonderful initiative.”

White Rose Shopping Centre and Heart Yorkshire have chosen two charities, Kids Klub and Yorkshire Children Trust to benefit from this campaign. Gifts can be dropped off at Heart’s Donation Station within White Rose Shopping Centre during the extended Christmas opening hours until Santa’s Little Helpers deliver them to the charities the week before Christmas.
